SJ Lighting's Plots For Life Nightclub

Ellen Lampert-Greaux | Live Design

What happens when an old theatre is repurposed as a new nightclub? Life, a new mega-club at SLS Las Vegas Hotel and Casino (an SBE property), is housed in a 20,000sq-ft venue that was once the theatre at the former Sahara Hotel. This gives the venue a unique feature: a 60' ceiling where the old fly loft used to be, while the remaining ceiling height is closer to 35' throughout the club, which opened in August.

In addition to the usual DJs spinning and mixing, the attractions at Life include high-definition LED screens flying in and out, while aerialists perform on theatrical rigging and catwalks, or fly across the room on zip lines as the Funktion One sound system pumps up the volume for the crowd with a capacity of 1,800. The visual impact is by SJ Lighting, with an MA Lighting grandMA console for programming and control.
